American Wagyu beef is the result of cross breeding Japanese Wagyu with Continental breeds . The result is a highly sought after rich, buttery texture when cooked. Kobe is reserved exclusively for cattle raised in the Kobe region of Japan. The same quality of cattle raised outside of Kobe region must be identified as Wagyu.
